The Lord is my Shepherd

I know that when we hear that title of mine, we automatically say "I know that, Psalm 23" and after this we will add, "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil..." Why does our mind remember but our heart doesn't? And, how true is this to our lives or should I ask, how true we are in declaring this chapter?

I already knew this chapter since I was 5 years old. I also learned the Tagalog song of this and it's really a very inspiring song for me.

How can we know that we are a sheep and the Lord is the Shepherd?

Well, let me give you some of my insights learned from my own experiences with God here in the field.

1. God provides...

The Shepherd is the one who provides the basic needs of his sheep. God already prepared everything before He created Adam. He already provide those needs of our lives and He did not just prepare those, He makes sure that it will be given to us in perfect time. He is not in hurry but He never been late.

2. God restores...

Now a days the term charger can be easily defined. In our daily lives there are lot of factors that make us sad, lonely, depress or drain. But, our God always be our charger, just a simple prayer and, presto, a brand new strength will be given to us. One key to remember, admit to God that you need Him to always be the charger of your life.

3. God leads...

In these past months ago, I've been to struggles on where will I be. I am on the field, but there are many things that lead my minds to anxieties. There are bunch of things that can be done and things that I don't want to do. I am really afraid to move my feet forward. I prayed and this year, is the year that I can say that I did the deepest prayer in my entire life. I really wanna make sure that it's the voice of God and not from me or anybody else. The insight here is, we can't hear the word of God if we don't shot our mouth up and open our heart to listen to His soft voice. Secondly, if we are far from Him though we're busy doing His will we can never see His leading.

4. God protects...

How can you step forward if you're not sure that it is safe? You tends to go either to the left or right and the worst thing is to go backward. God never leaves us nor forsakes us. There are different kind of destructions that are at hand, set to us by our enemies but God is with us to be our protection, He will not permit Satan to harm us, never!

5. God corrects...

The sheep is I think the most forgetful animal, he keeps on forgetting the path wherein he always walk on and the shepherd always correct. Man knows God is good, great, full of love etc. etc. etc. But, we always forget those things and do what we think good for us. If He sees us going to the wrong path He corrects and pulls us back by His word. Most of the times to be corrected is very painful. But at the end of the day we feel the comfort of His love.

6. God honors...

Our fellow men will be good to us if we are good to them or love us because we love them. But if we committed mistake big or small it's easy for them to condemn us. God is not like that, He loves, gives and He honors. We sometimes or maybe always, hear the bad things against us made by those people who hate us or those who don't know us. But we can assure weather in the good or bad sides of our being, we always hear this from God. "I love you my child"

7. God assures...

There are many security agencies now that will encourage us to join their assurance plans. For us, we always want to be assured in our money, basic needs at present time and in the future. Also, we make sure that those whom we love, loves us back. God assures us that His love and mercy will follow us and we will dwell in His house forever. So, we have assurance here on earth and in heaven.

Actually there are lots of insights that we can learn from this Psalm. I will just challenge you to take a few minutes with God and allow Him to talk and say with His finest voice how much He loves you. You will experience His shepherding if you made yourself His sheep. GOD BLESS!
